Exams that are accepted by optometry schools*
- 
GRE ($205), MCAT ($320), DAT ($415), PCAT ($210) and OAT ($465)
 - 
*Please confirm with the institution to which you are applying if the test you desire to take is accepted

OAT Testing Process
- 
Register to take the exam through ADA (and select to which schools to send scores)
 - 
Register for an exam date and time through Prometric
 - 
Take the exam at a Prometric testing center and receive an unofficial score report after the exam concludes.
 - 
3-4 weeks after testing receive verified scores from ADA and scores are sent to the schools requested and posted to OptomCAS
 - 
**Note: Examinees must wait 90 days to retest if they desire
 
OAT Partial Fee Waiver
- 
In documented cases of severe financial hardship, a limited number of partial fee waivers are available to OAT examinees each calendar year. The partial fee waiver covers 50% of the OAT fee. Partial fee waivers are granted on a first-come, first-served basis to eligible examinees who have submitted the required documents:

First-time examinee
 - 
U.S. citizen or resident alien
 - 
Has demonstrated financial hardship
 - 
Received financial aid from their school
 -
